C'est que nous rapporte le site AMD Zone, en effet ils ont obtenu des informations de plusieurs personnes d'Asus sur la cessation de la carte mère A7M266, basée sur Chipset AMD760 .
Voici le courrier que ces personnes ont recu :
"Due to instabilities inherent in the AMD 760 chipset, Asus has decided todiscontinue the A7M266 motherboard, rather than ship an immaturemotherboard.
Asus will be releasing a new motherboard, the A7A266, which will incorporatethe ALI MAGiK-1 chipset, and offer support for both SDRAM and DDR memory.
The expected lead-time for shipment of this motherboard is 4 to 6 weeks.

Please reply to this email with one of the following four options.
1. That you would like to switch to the Iwill KA266 motherboard.
2. Stick with ASUS and waiting for the A7A266 motherboard to bereleased by ASUS.
3. That you would like to go with another manufactures motherboard toreplace the A7M266.
4. Or that you would like to cancel your order at this time."
En résumé, Asus compte abandonner ce chipset à cause de son instabilité. Du coup, le constructeur se pencherait sur le chipset ALI MAGiK-1 supportant également la mémoire DDR. Cette nouvelle carte se nommera Asus A7A266 et serait disponible d'ici 4 à 6 semaines.
